The overcoat is a garment that is generally associated with a colder climate. It’s heavy cloth and fuller length makes it a suitable option for that time of the year when you just feel like staying inside. Although, this does not have to be the case. We have experimented a little bit with the classic overcoat style to bring out something slightly less formal and a lot less warm.
The Saman Amel spring/summer overcoat is minimal and functional in terms of detailing. In this case the cloth used for the overcoat is from Loro Piana. It is really a brushed wool suiting cloth rather than something you would normally see in an overcoat. The fabric combined with a slightly more generous fit and added length is what generates its drape. Equally suitable to wear with slacks, sneakers and a sweater as well as with a full suit and polished dress shoes.
